Second Life’s Most Expensive Dress

In a world wherein imagination sets the limits, fashion can go beyond the extremes. Second Life has always nudged its users towards the path of immeasurable creativity. And this was exactly what Eshi Otawara did.

Eshi publicly released a limited black version of her Fishhook Dress last December of 2007. It was the first in her original line of Eshi Otawara wearables in her Chambre du Chocolat shop. Unfortunately, a lot of fashion afficionados were disappointed when they found out that Eshi wasn’t going to sell any more of her dress after the two week period.

But then last July 13, 2008, all were at buzz when Eshi placed her Fishhook Dress up for auction in the in-world Relay for Life fund raiser. The auction attracted a lot of SL fashion icons who were the main men during the bidding war. Finally Kay Fairey and Clarabell Cazalet, two prominent Premiere Modeling Management models, won the bid at a whooping $L460, 000!

The Fishhook dress has grabbed its place in Second Life’s history as the Most Expensive Dress. And undoubtedly, SL residents are recognizing Eshi Otawara as one of the most respected and notable fashion designers of all time.
